Our client, a leading EPC service provider in the renewables sector, is currently seeking a PV Engineer to join their team. This role involves routine maintenance and remedial work on solar PV systems, either independently or as part of a team. You will report directly to the Head of Technical and will be based at various sites as required, working 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting routine maintenance, testing, and remedial work on deployed solar PV systems
  • Adhering to company procedures
  • Performing Preventative and Corrective Maintenance in line with the annual plan
  • Reporting activities performed on site via an online reporting system
  • Carrying out job-specific risk assessment and analysis, and reporting near misses
  • Supervising and coordinating third-party contractors on site
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety Regulations
  • Keeping accurate and detailed records of electrical testing for audits
  • Identifying and resolving faults in both AC and DC systems
  • Complying with fire, health, and safety requirements, and participating in required training
  • Willingness to stay overnight occasionally and participate in a weekend rota (with additional pay)

Job Requirements:

  • Level 3 City & Guilds/NVQ qualification in Electrical Installations
  • C&G 2382-18
  • C&G 2391-52 or equivalent
  • HV AP qualification
  • First Aid Training and Fire Marshal certification
  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures and schedules
  • Understanding of AC and DC electrical systems, CVTV systems, and SCADA systems
  • Knowledge of High Voltage systems (33kV) and related operations
  • Proficiency with industry instruments such as Digital Multimeters, Amp clamp-meters, and insulation resistance testers
  • Experience in Solar PV O&M ground mount
  • Desirable: Harness Trained, H/S IOSH qualification, and central inverter manufacturer provided training qualifications
