Our client, a leading player in the energy sector, is currently seeking a talented Director of Finance. This permanent role is based in Houston, TX, with a key focus on managing a dynamic team and partnering with capital equipment operations to drive financial performance and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of project accountants, cost accountants, and financial analysts.
- Drive financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes, including forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
- Present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results to senior leadership with actionable insights.
- Partner with operations and regional leadership on annual plans, forecast adjustments, and profitability analyses.
- Oversee project accounting for percentage-of-completion contracts, ensuring accurate revenue recognition.
- Provide data-driven analytics to identify opportunities for profitability, cost optimisation, and operational efficiency improvements.
- Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations.
- Implement and enhance processes and systems to streamline forecasting, project tracking, and performance measurement.
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects, providing financial leadership and strategic insights.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- Experience in accounting and/or financial planning & analysis (FP&A).
- Expertise in US GAAP with a solid understanding of financial controls and compliance.
- Proven ability to effectively partner with stakeholders at all organisational levels.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with Hyperion Financial Management and/or Oracle is a plus.
- Commitment to meeting deadlines, customer requirements, and organisational priorities.
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives, including the use of automation tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power Query).
