Job Title: Press Officer
Salary: €285 per day - Inside IR35
Reports to: Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Director
Location: Hybrid / MetroLink Offices, Parkgate Street, Dublin 8

About the Role

My client is seeking a talented and proactive Press Officer to manage and enhance MetroLink's public image and media communications. In this key role, you will work closely with the Press Office Lead to develop and deliver impactful communication strategies that align with MetroLink's objectives. You'll collaborate across internal teams to produce compelling content and manage media engagement, helping to shape how MetroLink's story is told to the public.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to inform and guide communications strategies.

  • Write and issue press releases, briefings, and statements.

  • Develop and execute strategic PR and digital campaigns, including social media content.

  • Manage communications channels-both print and digital-ensuring high-quality, engaging content for MetroLink's stakeholders.

  • Foster strong relationships with journalists, editors, and media professionals to secure positive coverage.

  • Monitor media coverage, analyse trends, and report on MetroLink's media presence and public perception.

  • Support the development and execution of media strategies to enhance the organisation's visibility and reputation.

  • Collaborate with the wider communications team to deliver effective media campaigns.

  • Perform additional communications-related tasks as required.

Experience & Skills

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a communications or press role.

  • Proven track record working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in crisis communications and press release management.

  • Previous experience leading or coordinating communications activity.

Skills:

  • Strong relationship management skills with media and stakeholder groups.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; native-level proficiency in English.

  • Demonstrated ability to assess and mitigate communications risks.

  • Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across teams.

  • Strong problem-solving, adaptability, and organisational skills.

  • Confident interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Proficiency in digital communications and social media management.

  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
