About the Role
My client is seeking an experienced and strategic Market Engagement Communication Lead to drive high-level communication and engagement with key market stakeholders. This is a senior role, central to shaping and delivering MetroLink's core messages to industry audiences through clear, concise, and impactful communications.
You will be responsible for developing market engagement strategies, creating compelling content, and leading engagement events that position MetroLink as a leader in infrastructure delivery. Your work will help shape how the project's vision, progress, and future ambitions are communicated to the market.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of effective market engagement strategies and events to increase awareness and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
Create and oversee content across communication channels including social media, newsletters, press releases, and the MetroLink website.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure messaging is consistent and aligned with business objectives.
Ensure communication plans align with MetroLink's strategic goals and market engagement strategy.
Monitor and analyse market trends, stakeholder feedback, and the competitive landscape to inform strategy.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including media, industry leaders, and customers.
Work closely with the Market Engagement Team to ensure messaging is accurate, regular, and aligned with the MSCP.
Plan and deliver engagement activities such as webinars, events, and forums to promote MetroLink's vision and objectives.
Measure and report on the effectiveness of market engagement campaigns and refine strategies based on results.
Lead and mentor the communications team, fostering collaboration and high performance.
Represent MetroLink at public events, meetings, and forums to promote the organisation's mission and values.
Provide regular reports to the Programme Director and executive team on communication activities and outcomes.
Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support overall communication goals.
Experience & Skills
Experience:
10+ years of experience in market engagement communications for large-scale infrastructure projects.
Proven track record working with technical teams and diverse organisations, both internally and externally.
Experience managing market engagement events, campaigns, and stakeholder relations.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
Experience setting up and managing strategic engagement plans.
Skills:
Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee complex communication programmes.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building abilities.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (native-level English proficiency).
Strong understanding of marketing strategies, tools, and best practices.
Skilled in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation related to market engagement.
Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Strong analytical and organisational skills with a flair for event management.
Experience communicating with both private and public sector audiences.
Policy writing and message distillation skills for targeted audiences.
Confident working in uncertain or ambiguous environments, providing strategic communication advice.
Proficiency with digital and social media tools, including video and graphic content integration.
Qualifications & Professional Memberships
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field.
Relevant professional memberships or certifications are advantageous.
