Purpose of the Role

The Product Strategy Lead will define and deliver a robust short- and long-term growth strategy for Acceptance business, with a focus on Account-to-Account (A2A) payments and Cash Advance products. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving market share expansion, shaping the strategic direction, and positioning both products as industry-leading solutions within the payments ecosystem.


Key Responsibilities

1. Market Definition & Opportunity Identification

  • Define the total addressable market for A2A payments and cash advance propositions.

  • Conduct deep market, competitive, and customer analyses to identify unmet needs, emerging trends, and underperforming segments.

  • Quantify commercial opportunities and prioritise focus areas to maximise growth potential.

2. Capability Development & Business Case Creation

  • Design and shape new product capabilities, features, and value propositions to unlock growth.

  • Develop comprehensive business cases to support investment decisions, resource allocation, and execution planning.

  • Partner with Product, Technology, and Operations teams to translate strategic initiatives into actionable delivery roadmaps.

3. Go-to-Market Strategy

  • Lead the creation of marketing and growth strategies, covering both tactical and long-term go-to-market (GTM) plans.

  • Define delivery models (build, partner, or acquire) and outline high-level capability requirements.

  • Collaborate with commercial teams to ensure propositions are scalable, differentiated, and customer-centric.

4. Customer Validation & Iteration

  • Engage directly with customers and partners to validate new propositions and refine strategic direction.

  • Incorporate market and customer feedback into iterative product design and execution.

  • Establish proof points that build confidence among internal and external stakeholders.

5. Strategic Output & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Deliver comprehensive tactical (short-term) and transformational (long-term) strategies for each product area.

  • Advise senior leadership on strategic priorities, alignment, and execution progress.

  • Influence and negotiate across multiple stakeholder groups to secure buy-in and deliver strategic outcomes.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic guidance to executive and cross-functional leadership teams.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to advance business goals.

  • Communicate complex strategic recommendations with clarity and impact.

  • Monitor and measure the success of strategic initiatives, adjusting course as needed.
