This role is crucial in the design and management of bridge-related works, including assessments, feasibility studies, and refurbishments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the collection, assessment, and dissemination of essential information for successful scheme preparation and implementation.
- Prepare or assist in preparing technical design and contract documents to ensure project execution within published programmes and budget estimates.
- Liaise with contractors, public utilities, and other relevant bodies to incorporate design duties and programmes as required.
- Maintain a focus on Health and Safety for self and others at all times.
- Encourage and influence others on sustainability and equality of opportunities policies and practices.
- Prepare and manage bridge design projects and improvements.
Job Requirements:
- Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers.
- RQF Level 4-7 qualification in a relevant engineering field.
- Specific working knowledge in the design and construction of bridges and other highway structures.
- Experience with British Standards, DMRB Standards, and Eurocodes.
- Proficiency in Finite Element and Grillage software packages (e.g., LUSAS, ENCAD).
- Experience in undertaking bridge inspections in accordance with the Inspection Manual for Highway Structures.
- Ability to supervise the design work of other team members.
- Understanding of duties under CDM 2015 Regulations.
- Driving licence required (category B) and ability to fulfil travel requirements.
Working Conditions:
