QHSE Manager - Dunfermline (Fixed-Term or Contractor Basis)

We're seeking a proactive and experienced QHSE Manager to take the lead at our Dunfermline facility. This is a key role focused on maintaining the highest standards of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment across a busy engineering and manufacturing site.
Reporting to the Site Operations Director, you'll own all QHSE activities on site, driving continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and fostering a strong safety-first culture. The position is split approximately 70% HSE and 30% Quality, overseeing a small Quality team and supporting ongoing manufacturing and servicing operations for commercial and naval equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and maintain robust QHSE governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory standards.
Develop and implement effective emergency response and business continuity plans.
Plan, execute, and follow up on internal QHSE audits to ensure ongoing compliance and improvement.
Monitor and report monthly QHSE performance metrics to senior stakeholders.
Support site leadership in resolving issues, identifying risks, and enhancing overall QHSE culture.
Oversee and develop the Quality team, identifying training and upskilling opportunities.
Maintain HSE compliance registers, environmental impact assessments, and risk management documentation.
Lead incident investigations and ensure effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Coordinate HSE training and competency development across the workforce.
Act as the main contact for external authorities and key stakeholders on all QHSE-related matters.
About You
Degree in HSE or a related field, or equivalent professional qualification.
Proven experience managing ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications.
At least 5 years' management experience within QHSE.
Chartered or professional membership of IOSH and/or IEMA (preferred).
Strong communication and leadership skills, with a track record of team development.
Confident using ERP systems and data tools such as Power BI.
Must be eligible for BPSS clearance, with the potential need for SC clearance.
