Our client, a prominent firm within the construction sector, is currently seeking a skilled Project Engineer to assist in the delivery of civils works for a project at Stansted. This initial 6-month contract role has been deemed inside IR35 and requires a solid background in civil engineering, with an emphasis on groundworks and piling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Project Manager's representative on site, providing daily oversight and technical input.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and programme.
  • Identify and report defects and non-conformances; track and manage close-out actions.
  • Review and accept contractor permit submissions.
  • Coordinate with Construction Managers and assist in resolving site blockers.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure operational alignment.
  • Validate contractor-reported progress and highlight discrepancies.
  • Provide technical expertise on construction methodologies and techniques.
  • Review RAMS, Construction Phase Plans, CEMP, and other contractor documentation.
  • Advise on potential Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and Compensation Events (CEs), and support validation of contractor claims.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong background in civil engineering, including groundworks and piling.
  • Familiarity with heavy lifting operations and associated safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Ability to work on-site at Stansted Airport up to three days per week.
