Our client, a key player in the rail industry, is currently seeking an experienced Buyer to join one of Ireland's most ambitious and transformative rail infrastructure programmes, based in Dublin. This programme delivers multi-billion-euro upgrades to the national transport network, encompassing civil engineering, track, signalling, power, and station enhancements across multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead procurement activities for civils and multi-disciplinary rail packages (track, signalling, M&E, telecoms, etc.)
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met
  • Collaborate with engineering, commercial, and project teams to align procurement strategies with programme milestones
  • Prepare and issue RFQs, evaluate tenders, and negotiate contracts
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, EU regulations, and project governance
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any contractual or delivery issues
  • Support cost control and value engineering initiatives

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience in procurement within the rail industry
  • Strong background in civils buying (earthworks, structures, drainage, etc.)
  • Experience working on large-scale, multi-disciplinary rail projects
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with Irish and EU procurement regulations
  • Relevant qualifications in procurement, supply chain, or commercial management
