Engineering Manager - Nuclear Decommissioning / Demolition


Location: Manchester Office (3 days) / North Wales Site (2 days)
Salary: Competitive + Package

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead multi-discipline engineering delivery on a challenging nuclear decommissioning and demolition project. You will oversee engineering teams, coordinate design and Temporary Works, and ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of technically complex works.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and coordinate multi-discipline engineering teams, ensuring timely delivery and design sign-off.

  • Manage engineering resources to meet project scope, schedule, and budget requirements.

  • Oversee Temporary Works, civil, structural, and lifting operations, ensuring safety and compliance.

  • Maintain engineering governance, including risk management, quality, and regulatory standards.

  • Manage interfaces with project partners, supply chain, and stakeholders.

  • Support mentoring and development of junior engineers and continuous improvement of engineering processes.

  • Provide technical leadership and input to commercial and project reporting.

Experience & Skills


Essential:


  • Significant experience leading multi-discipline engineering teams in construction, civil, or nuclear projects.

  • Strong knowledge of Temporary Works, lifting operations, and design coordination.

  • Excellent understanding of UK technical standards, regulatory requirements, and global best practice.

  • Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

  • Ability to work from Manchester office (3 days) and travel to site.


Desirable:


  • Experience in demolition, civils, or nuclear decommissioning projects.

  • Experience with CE marking requirements and engineering business systems/software.

Qualifications


Essential:


  • Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).


Desirable:


  • Chartered Engineer status and membership of a professional institution.
