Our client, a leading player in the aerospace sector, is currently seeking a dedicated Materials Representative to join their team in Mitry-Mory, France. This permanent position offers the opportunity to support defence sector logistics operations across the EMEA region. This role is ideal for someone who is execution-focused, detail-oriented, and thrives in high-pressure environments where proactivity and accountability are key.

Key Responsibilities:

Logistics Operations:

  • Coordinate and execute inbound and outbound logistics processes, ensuring compliance with defence sector regulations and company standards.
  • Manage end-to-end shipping cycles: planning, carrier selection, booking, documentation, and tracking.
  • Work closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, transport companies, and government authorities.
  • Ensure delivery timelines, visibility, and proactive issue resolution.
  • Handle returns, discrepancies, and transport incidents swiftly and clearly.

Warehouse Management:

  • Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, storage, order preparation, packing, and shipping.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and ensure compliance with physical and system controls.
  • Implement and sustain best practices in warehouse layout, safety, and efficiency.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (OTIF, inventory accuracy, delivery lead times, etc.).
  • Coordinate internal or external warehouse teams to meet performance goals.

Defence and Compliance Requirements:

  • Ensure compliance with all export/import regulations, including license management, documentation, and country-specific requirements (ITAR, EAR, EU dual-use, etc.).
  • Track and manage classified or sensitive documents with full traceability and confidentiality.
  • Interface with internal compliance, legal, and quality teams to ensure audit readiness.

Projects and Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead or support logistics improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, process optimisation, and digital transformation.
  • Identify and resolve chronic operational issues using data-driven approaches.
  • Contribute to the development of regional logistics strategy and best practices.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience as a Materials Controller & Planner in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management, preferably in defence, aerospace, energy, or other highly regulated sectors.
  • Strong understanding of international logistics, transportation, customs procedures, and trade compliance.
  • Proficiency in ERP and WMS systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Excellent knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and/or other defence-related export regulations.
  • Fluency in English and French (mandatory); Portuguese is a strong asset.
  • European work authorisation required.
