Our client, a leader in the defence and security sector, is seeking a skilled Platform Software Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role is primarily remote with occasional travel to Warton and Reading, and is part of the Air Business Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining software solutions for defence and security applications
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications
- Conducting software testing and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting for existing software platforms
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the software engineering team
- Documenting software designs, processes, and procedures
- Travelling occasionally to Warton and Reading as required
Job Requirements:
- Experience in software engineering and development
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles and methodologies
- Proficiency in software development languages and tools
- Ability to work effectively in a remote setup with occasional travel
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to obtain and maintain BPSS + SC security clearance
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Experience in the defence and security sector is a plus
Contract Details:
- Duration: 12 months
- Fully remote with some travel to Warton and Reading
- Expenses can be claimed for travel to Reading
