About the Role
We're seeking a Platform Software Engineer to join the world-class engineering team at BAE Systems, Warton. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and support of cutting-edge software solutions for advanced aerospace and defence systems.
As a Platform Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and testing of platform-level software, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with safety and security standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain software for complex aerospace systems.
- Perform software integration, debugging, and verification activities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- Support software reviews, configuration control, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with BAE Systems engineering and quality processes.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong background in C/C++, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience with embedded or real-time systems.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with DO-178, MIL-STD, or similar defence/aerospace standards (desirable).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
