Our client, a leading organisation within the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Govan. This contract role, focusing on the Type 26 programme, offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the construction and consolidation of units across various shipyards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing commercial support to the subcontract and outsourcing team
- Managing costs related to construction and subcontracted elements
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and contractual obligations
- Conducting cost analysis and budget management
- Preparing and evaluating tender documents
- Collaborating with various stakeholders to oversee the outsourcing process
- Monitoring project progress and preparing detailed reports
- Supporting the integration of outsourced units at the Govan site
Job Requirements:
- Experience in quantity surveying within the Defence & Security sector
- Understanding of subcontract and outsourcing processes
- Strong commercial acumen and cost management skills
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities
- Proficiency in using relevant quantity surveying software
- Ability to work entirely onsite at the Govan location, with some work across Scotstoun
- BPSS security clearance or eligibility to obtain it
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in quantity surveying or a related field
Contract Details:
- Contract duration: 6 months
- Fully onsite position with no remote working capability
- Working as part of a team of approximately 18 members
- Hands-on involvement in the Type 26 programme
