🚢 Senior Naval Architect - Structures | Portsmouth
We're looking for an experienced Senior Naval Architect to lead the structural design and analysis of complex marine and offshore projects. Play a pivotal role in ensuring vessel safety, integrity, and performance, while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to strategic project decisions.
What you'll do:
Lead structural design & advanced analysis (FEA, grillage, hand calculations)
Conduct surveys, inspections, and compliance checks on ships and marine structures
Mentor junior team members and review technical work
Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality designs on time
Stay ahead of regulatory and industry developments, driving innovation and efficiency
You have:
Bachelor's or Master's in Naval Architecture, Structural Engineering, or related discipline
8-10+ years' experience in marine/offshore structural design and analysis
Expertise in steel & aluminium structures, classification society codes (DNV, LR, ABS, ISO)
Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects and deliver results
Location: Portsmouth
Eligibility: Must be able to live & work in the UK
