Our client, a start-up in the space sector, is seeking a Power Electronics Engineer to join their team. This permanent role, based in Galicia involves pioneering work in the design and development of Electric Propulsion Systems & RF Systems for space applications. You will be instrumental in advancing power and RF electronics technologies for high-reliability space applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, design, and validation of high-power RF generator power units for electric plasma engines.
- Design RF generators operating in bands from 13.56 MHz to 2.4 GHz with automatic tuning control and integrated coupling network.
- Develop high-voltage sources for gridded ion thrusters and plasma acceleration stages.
- Implement and validate electrical and RF protections and the radiofrequency generator impedance matching system.
- Integrate measurement and control systems, including telemetry, impedance, power, temperature, and current.
- Participate in the thermal and structural design of the PPU, ensuring compatibility with vacuum and vibration environments.
- Oversee the environmental qualification of the electronics (radiation, temperature, vacuum, vibration).
- Collaborate with the propulsion and systems team to integrate the PPU into various models (EM, QM, FM).
- Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and participate in reviews (CDR, TRR, etc.).
- Support propulsion laboratory tests and vacuum chamber test campaigns.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in electrical or electronic engineering, telecommunications systems engineering, or industrial engineering.
- Understanding of medium and high-frequency power electronics.
- Knowledge of RF amplifiers and impedance matching systems.
- Familiarity with high-voltage sources and isolated DC-DC converters.
- Proficiency in DC/AC converters.
- Advanced use of instrumentation: oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, network and power analysers, and electronic loads.
- Experience with digital power control (microcontrollers, DSPs, FPGAs).
- Ability to solve complex electrical problems and work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Clear documentation and effective communication skills.
