Our client, a leading company in the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) sector, seeks an Assistant Site Manager for a contract position. This role requires acting as TP137 cover on-site when the site manager is not present and supervising site works. You will be interfacing with and monitoring subcontractors, ensuring the necessary information is communicated to the site manager. This is a 3-month contract, concluding on 19/12/25. Outside of IR35, £500 a day .
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance to CDM regulations on site.
- Follow all setting to work procedures.
- Deliver works to a programme while maintaining health and safety standards.
- Produce reports and provide timely information.
- Provide supervision and guidance to staff and subcontractors to meet production levels.
- Maintain personal skill and knowledge levels to perform effectively.
- Perform other duties as directed by management.
- Comply with the company's HSQE and welfare policy provisions.
- Support clients and meet or exceed all agreed KPIs.
- Promote best practice, capture feedback, and implement improvements.
- Lead by example in health, safety, quality & environmental management.
- Ensure quality standards are met throughout the project and assist with the generation of as-built drawings.
- Implement Safe Systems of Work, including issuing Permits to Dig.
- Set others to work and monitor throughout the task/project.
Job Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence.
- National Grid Competent Person NSI 6 & 8.
- IOSHH Managing Safely, SMSTS, or SSSTS.
- CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport.
- Experience in the T&D industry, preferably on National Grid sites.
- Relevant previous supervisory experience.
- HSG47 certified.
- CITB TWS or TWC certification.
- First Aid certification.
- Previous TP137 or SR163 experience.
