We are seeking an experienced Freelance Mechanical Fitter to support ongoing projects within the water and wastewater industry. The ideal candidate will be reliable, safety-focused, and capable of delivering high-quality mechanical work across a range of treatment and pumping facilities.
There are multiple sites across Peterborough / Lincoln / Essex.
💧 Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain and repair pumps, valves, pipework, and associated mechanical equipment
Support clean water and wastewater treatment sites, pumping stations, and chemical dosing systems
Carry out mechanical commissioning, site modifications, and routine maintenance
Conduct mechanical fault-finding and respond to breakdowns
Work from technical drawings and ensure all tasks meet safety and compliance standards
🧰 Requirements:
Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter within the water sector
Strong understanding of water and wastewater processes
CSCS Card
- Anglian Water Safety Passport
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to different sites
