Location: Remote (once a quarter onsite in Edinburgh)

Rate: £32.10ph UMB (Inside IR35)
PAYE rate equivalent is £23.45ph.
Role details:
Our client, a leading defence and aerospace company, are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated IT Analyst to support their Software Asset Management (SAM) efforts. This is currently a temporary role with potential for permanent opportunity, which focuses on software license tracking, data quality, and supporting license renewals. You will work closely with the SAM team and procurement to help ensure our software assets are accurately renewed, documented and compliant.
Key Responsibilities:
- License Tracking - Maintain accurate records of software licenses, including purchases, entitlements, deployments, and renewals to ensure compliance across the software portfolio.
- Renewal Preparation - Assist with preparing renewal documentation, compiling software usage and entitlement data, and tracking key renewal dates.
- Data Entry & Reporting - Input and update software license and usage data in SAM tools; generate regular reports for compliance, optimization, and audit support.
- Basic Vendor Communication - Work with procurement and software vendors to obtain quotes, confirm licensing details, and support administrative aspects of renewals and agreements.
- Process Support - Help manage internal queries related to licensing and software assets and support the SAM team in day-to-day operations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with data.
- Experience with Excel.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Stakeholder management experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- SAP experience preferred but not essential.
Desired (on the job training & support will be provided)
- Basic understanding of software licensing models (e.g., per-user, per-device, subscription, perpetual).
- Experience with SAP and data management tools; exposure to SAM tools (e.g., Flexera, ServiceNow, Snow) is a plus.
