Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager for a contract role within the highways business sector. The purpose of the role is to manage and successfully deliver highway projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by meeting and exceeding expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the project team to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Maintain safety and sustainability targets and standards
  • Manage customer relationships during delivery, including handling changes and decisions to manage expectations
  • Ensure compliance with Company and Divisional procedures and policies
  • Manage external consultants to drive project value and achieve objectives
  • Handle post-completion issues to maintain a positive customer relationship
  • Maintain effective project records and report progress, risks, and issues to Senior Management
  • Utilise Building Information Modelling (BIM) to optimise project delivery and drive safety
  • Understand and adhere to contract terms and conditions for each project
  • Execute business strategy focused on customer satisfaction, operational excellence and innovation

Job Requirements:


Essential:

  • Experience in project management within the highways or a related industry
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects ahead of schedule, under budget, and with zero defects
  • Experience in multi-stakeholder projects within highly political environments
  • Experience working with public sector organisations
  • Strong communication, planning and organisational skills to manage customer relationships and deliver operational excellence
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence and manage teams to achieve targets
  • Financial and commercial awareness to deliver performance targets, and a focus on improving safety and sustainability
  • A valid CSCS card


Desirable:

  • A relevant professional qualification, such as APMP, and a relevant technical qualification
  • Experience with Lean Construction principles and Lean practitioner training
