Our client, a prominent player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Procurement Engineer for a contract position in Samlesbury. This role involves working with cutting-edge military and information systems, with a focus on efficient procurement processes within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing procurement activities to support various projects within the Defence & Security sector
- Ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing of materials and services
- Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
- Conducting market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers
- Negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations
- Collaborating with project teams to align procurement strategies with business needs
- Monitoring supplier performance and addressing any issues that arise
Job Requirements:
- Experience in procurement, preferably within the Defence & Security sector
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with 3 days on-site at Samlesbury
- Understanding of procurement regulations and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools
- Security clearance at SC level (or in-flight to start)
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
