Our client, a prominent player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Procurement Engineer for a contract position in Samlesbury. This role involves working with cutting-edge military and information systems, with a focus on efficient procurement processes within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing procurement activities to support various projects within the Defence & Security sector
  • Ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing of materials and services
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
  • Conducting market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers
  • Negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations
  • Collaborating with project teams to align procurement strategies with business needs
  • Monitoring supplier performance and addressing any issues that arise

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in procurement, preferably within the Defence & Security sector
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with 3 days on-site at Samlesbury
  • Understanding of procurement regulations and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools
  • Security clearance at SC level (or in-flight to start)
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
