A leading provider in the water sector are currently recruiting for a Buyer on a full-time, permanent basis (some flexibility to work from home) in Hattersley.
Role - Buyer / Materials Buyer
Type - Permanent
Location - Hattersley
Salary - £30,000 - £35,000 + benefits
Key responsibilities for Buyer / Materials Buyer include and will not be limited to:
- Lead procurement activities for multiple projects, ensuring best value, innovation, and cost efficiency.
- Support project teams by developing sourcing strategies, managing tenders, and expediting orders to meet timelines.
- Build and manage supplier relationships, ensuring performance, compliance, and issue resolution.
- Ensure governance and compliance with procurement frameworks, policies, and financial risk controls.
- Drive continuous improvement, promoting sustainable procurement and optimising systems and processes.
- Report on performance and represent procurement, fostering collaboration, professionalism, and ongoing development.
Key skills and experience required for Buyer / Materials Buyer job applicant and will not be limited to:
- Strong communicator and influencer, skilled at building effective relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Commercially aware and customer focused, with a solid grasp of cost drivers, risk, and value delivery.
- Independent and proactive, representing Procurement confidently while upholding ethical standards.
- Technically proficient, experienced with Microsoft Office and familiar with and ethical sourcing practices.
- Professionally qualified or developing, ideally CIPS-certified with relevant education and experience in regulated industries.
