Your Purpose

As a Senior Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development and management of integrated project schedules across multiple complex defence programmes. You will:

  • Drive the overall integrated Primavera P6 programme and ensure alignment with project objectives.

  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers to maintain schedules, performance metrics, and hierarchical reporting structures.

  • Correlate schedule, cost, and risk data to inform project decision-making and support scenario planning.

  • Provide in-depth analysis and review of contractors' programmes, ensuring consistency and compliance.

  • Lead on scheduling integration across multiple projects and support the Project Controls Manager on contractor and procurement requirements.

  • Foster collaboration between delivery teams, client directorates, and external stakeholders to ensure project success.

  • Champion continuous improvement and provide specialist planning expertise across the business.

What You Can Bring

We're looking for someone who combines technical excellence with strong leadership and communication skills. Ideally, you will have:

  • A proven track record in planning and scheduling within large-scale defence or nuclear projects.

  • Experience leading teams of planning professionals in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

  • Strong construction project planning expertise across large, multi-disciplinary projects.

  • Solid understanding of project management principles, commercial awareness, and value-driven delivery.

  • Working knowledge of NEC contract clauses and programme contractual requirements.

  • Excellent communication, analysis, and presentation skills.

  • A recognised degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
