SME manufacturer require a Procurement & Supply Chain Manager to develop procurement strategies and policies. A greenfield procurement opportunity, suited to an aspirational Buyer / Senior Buyer or an experienced Procurement Manager seeking a new challenge.
This is an exciting end-to-end procurement and supply chain opportunity, where the job holder has opportunity to set both procurement and supply chain strategy (inventory planning, storage and distribution).
Specific duties of the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager include:
- Develop cost effective procurement strategies for raw materials and components
- Strategic supplier relationship, performance management and risk mitigation activities
- Negotiation, agreement and management of pricing and LTAs with the supply chain
- Set inventory management strategies
- Contribute to broader commercial and company policies and strategies, particularly in relation to ESG and sustainability
- Optimise use of procurement data and dashboards to drive procurement decision making.
Procurement & Supply Chain Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Procurement experience, at Buyer, Senior Buyer or Procurement Manager level ideally in manufacturing
- An awareness, understanding or experience of inventory management strategies
- Ability to negotiate with suppliers and manage supplier relationships
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills to implement new policies, processes and take colleagues on the journey
- Familiar with modern procurement tools, systems, MRP/ERP etc.
