Successful engineering business require a Buyer on a 3-6 month FTC. Applicants need procurement, purchasing or supply chain experience, ideally within a manufacturing/engineering business and ideally have previous MRP/ERP exposure.
The Buyer will join a small procurement team reporting to the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager. The role will focus on operational purchasing tasks - managing the purchase order process, expediting, and monitoring inventory levels, ensuring continuity of supply to the business.
Specific duties of the Buyer include:
- Management of purchase order process
- Relationship building with suppliers and performance monitoring
- Expediting
- Monitoring of inventory levels
- Liaison with technical and sales colleagues
Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Previous Procurement, Purchasing or Supply Chain experience, ideally in the capacity of Buyer, Junior Buyer, Purchasing Assistant, Procurement Administrator, Expeditor, materials planning, logistics etc
- Experience using an MRP/ERP system, or strong MS Excel skills
- Excellent communicator and relationship builder
- Comfortable working on a FTC for 3-6 months
