Head of Electrical Design Job Specification
We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic person who will integrate well with the current technical team and will drive design excellence standards throughout our fast growing business.
Must have:
- Degree level qualification in electrical design or electrical/electronics engineering
- CAD
- 2D line drawings - able to produce and fault find existing drawings
- Minimum 5 years' experience in design role
- Experience with BESS systems or systems with multiple electrical sources
- Project management skills
- Willingness to innovate on new and existing product ranges
- Client presentation skills - able to present design ideas and discuss solutions with clients.
Responsibilities:
- Job role will involve managing end-to-end design process ensuring all technical information is created as part of the design process to enable all new products to be launched onto the market in a compliant manner.
- Initial concept drawings
- Cost tracking of project through BOM
- Complete grading of the project against preset criteria to ensure project meets opportunity standard to move forward
- Produce 3D drawing packs
- Produce 2D wiring schematics packs
- Accurately track scope changes with design change logs
- Produce quality control checklist for project and final product
- Work with the Technical team to ensure all legislation criteria for product has been met.
- Project management - Manage product design projects to ensure products are developed on time, in full and to budget
- Produce technical documentation to allow successful product rollout.
