About the Role

Are you ready to join a pioneering team developing cutting-edge defence technologies? We're looking for a motivated and experienced Effector Controller Project Engineer to play a key role in the development and delivery of advanced weapon system technologies.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the UK's most exciting and technically challenging programmes - developing next-generation directed energy weapon concepts and control systems.

You'll act as the technical interface between internal design authorities and suppliers, ensuring that hardware and software components are delivered to specification, on time, and within budget.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Effector Controller Project Engineer, you will:

  • Manage the technical requirements and specifications for assigned subsystems.

  • Coordinate internal and external work packages, ensuring cost, schedule, and technical alignment.

  • Act as the technical interface between suppliers, design authorities, and system-level teams.

  • Support hardware delivery, certification, and system integration.

  • Develop and maintain interface and performance documentation.

  • Lead technical progress meetings and milestone reviews.

  • Contribute to design reviews and risk mitigation strategies across the engineering lifecycle.

  • Support the integration of hardware and software within the overall system architecture.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • Strong experience in systems, electrical, or hardware engineering within complex, multi-disciplinary projects.

  • Understanding of system integration, certification, and design authority management.

  • Ability to coordinate across disciplines such as software, mechanical, and electrical engineering.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • A methodical, analytical approach to problem-solving and delivery.

  • Experience with defence or highly regulated engineering environments is advantageous but not essential.
