Our client, a prominent player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Principal Engineer - Electrical Engineering (Power Electrics) to join their team in Barrow on a contract basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading electrical engineering projects related to power electrics within the submarine sector
- Designing, developing, testing, and supervising the installation of electrical systems
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver project milestones
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
- Analysing project requirements and developing technical solutions
- Travelling to suppliers and collaborating on-site as required
- Producing detailed technical documentation and reports
Job Requirements:
- Experience in electrical engineering within the defence sector; especially focused on power electrics
- Proficiency with Labview is essential
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices
- Experience with submarine systems is desirable
- Effective project management and team leadership skills
- Security Clearance at SC level and UK Eyes Only is mandatory
- Willingness to travel to Barrow and Leicester as needed
