Our client, a leading construction company operating in critical environments such as Data Centres, Life Sciences, Aviation, and High Value Manufacturing, is seeking a talented Technical Services Manager to join their team in London. This permanent role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile projects with blue-chip clients in a stimulating environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and shortlist potential M&E partners during the Tender process.
- Assess and track the performance of key M&E subcontractors across quality, safety, programme, and value.
- Act as the escalation point for any MEP issues and manage them to a successful conclusion.
- Establish and promote a strong Safety culture within the team.
- Ensure the implementation of Safety Management and Environmental Management Systems on all projects from a Tech Services perspective.
- Build and resource the M&E team, selecting appropriate team members for individual projects.
- Promote inclusivity and a positive team ethic within the M&E team.
- Develop the skill levels of individuals and teams through coaching and mentoring.
- Manage the project team's performance, holding them accountable to agreed goals and standards.
- Review tender documents to ensure M&E packages are cost-efficient and perform due diligence on M&E sub-contractors' packages.
- Manage escalated variations and build strong relationships with M&E consultants.
- Identify new opportunities to increase the client base through fostering relationships.
- Oversee projects to ensure QMS implementation and compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure successful M&E delivery through overseeing the commissioning, demonstration, and handover process.
- Perform duties of an M&E Coordinator where required on specific projects.
Job Requirements:
- Third level qualification in Building Services or a related discipline or a qualified trade (Mechanical or Electrical).
- Significant experience in construction, including at least five years as a Services Co-ordinator.
- Proven track record of seeing projects through to completion.
- Understanding of design requirements and the client's brief.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to nurture a positive working atmosphere.
- Ability to work autonomously and deliver results without close supervision.
- Results-oriented with a strong drive to deliver M&E services to the team.
- Demonstrated responsibility and accountability for actions.
