Do you want to design and manufacture world-changing spacecraft systems used across science, security, telecoms, navigation and Earth observation? We are now seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our Composites Manufacturing team and help deliver precision components for spacecraft systems and sub-systems.
Key Responsibilities
Program, set and operate 3- and 5-axis CNC milling machines for composite (carbon and metallic) and metallic components.
Produce high-precision parts for spacecraft systems in a high-value, low-volume environment.
Conduct offline CNC programming using Autodesk PowerMill and FeatureCAM (training provided if required).
Work closely with Project Engineers and other engineering teams to meet strict deadlines and specifications.
Participate in peer reviews to ensure Design for Manufacture principles are applied.
Attend regular team meetings and support cross-functional collaboration.
Carry out manual machining operations when required.
Undertake additional tasks as delegated by the Manufacturing Team Leader.
Person Specification
Qualifications
City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering or recognised engineering apprenticeship.
Strong general educational background.
Experience
Background in machining or a similar precision engineering environment.
Experience in a high-precision, high-value, low-volume setting-Aerospace preferred.
CNC offline programming experience with SolidWorks, Autodesk PowerMill or FeatureCAM is desirable (training available).
