Our client, a leading organisation within the highways sector, is currently seeking a dedicated Highways Supervisor to join their team on a contract basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering services in line with contract requirements, ensuring client and customer satisfaction
- Ensuring all work allocated is appropriately programmed, planned, supervised, and executed to specifications, drawings, dimensions, and commercial limits
- Managing operational gross margins from pre-works planning to on-site supervision through effective management
- Overseeing the day-to-day Health & Safety of staff and Supply Chain Partners, and delivering tool box talks
- Ensuring all work complies with local operational procedures and highways policies, with formal records of work requests and changes
- Setting and monitoring performance objectives in terms of time, cost, safety, and quality
- Providing training, development, and encouragement to staff and operatives to ensure all works are fully resourced
- Managing vehicles and plant used in the depot
- Supporting the development and mentoring of apprentices
- Involvement in Emergency and Winter Maintenance
Job Requirements:
- Experience in construction delivery and workforce supervision
- Commercially driven with a focus on capturing working cost efficiencies and cost control
- Experience within the highway maintenance industry, or holding CSCS, NRSWA, and SSSTS/SMSTS certifications
- Leadership, motivational, and influencing skills to get the best from everyone
- General IT skills, ideally in Microsoft Office products
- Strong relationship-building skills with contacts at all levels
- Flexibility and an ability to embrace and drive change through wider teams and delivery
