Workshop Technician
Location: Aberdeen


About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Technician with a background in the test & assembly of Subsea Technologies, to join our client's team. Based in the workshop, you'll play a key role in maintaining, repairing, assembling, and testing our specialist subsea equipment. You'll also prepare equipment for client delivery and mobilization, and travel offshore and overseas to ensure safe installation and operation.


This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same-perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys solving technical challenges.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and testing of subsea equipment to company standards.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs across our product line.
  • Complete accurate records, assembly/test documentation, and route cards.
  • Actively contribute to toolbox talks, safety updates, and mobilization/demobilization briefings.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
  • Support departmental improvement projects and highlight opportunities for efficiency.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety procedures and promote strong HSE practices.
  • Be flexible to work overtime and shifts when required.


What We're Looking For

  • Experience with mechanical fitting, pressure systems, testing operations, lifting, and general workshop activities.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems (pneumatic/electrical knowledge is an advantage).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, procedures, and schematics.
  • Industrial background (airline, military, oilfield, automotive, or electronic industries).
  • Forklift and overhead crane operation (training provided if required).
  • Basic PC skills with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing project demands.
  • Offshore experience preferred (minimum 3 years desirable). Offshore certification is advantageous but can be provided.

Working Conditions

  • Workshop-based with regular offshore and overseas assignments.
  • Working hours in line with local regulations and company policy.
