Our client, a leading IT solutions provider, is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join their dynamic team in Weybridge. This role involves ensuring the reliability and security of IT network infrastructures, maintaining high-performance connectivity across global operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support planned network upgrades, migrations, and changes, ensuring accurate configurations and comprehensive documentation
  • Configure, operate, and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
  • Monitor network performance using advanced tools and address alerts and incidents proactively
  • Conduct initial troubleshooting of network issues such as connectivity problems, routing errors, and IP configuration challenges
  • Assist in the implementation and testing of firewall policies and security configurations under senior engineer guidance
  • Collaborate with the security team to investigate and mitigate network security incidents
  • Contribute ideas for continuous improvement of network operations by staying updated on emerging network technologies

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in IT networking with a strong understanding of fundamentals such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, and routing protocols
  • Familiarity with Layer 2/3 switching and routing technologies
  • Hands-on experience configuring network devices via command-line interfaces (e.g., Cisco IOS)
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and log analysis using industry-standard tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to produce clear and organised technical documentation
  • Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
  • Relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Professional certifications such as CCNA or CompTIA Network+ are preferred
