Position: Lead Civils Estimator (United Utilities AMP8 Projects)
Location: Preston (Hybrid - 2 days per week on-site)
Contract Type: Initial 6-month contract with potential for extension
Rate: Up to £430/day (Outside IR35)
Start Date: ASAP
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Civils Estimator to join a Tier 1 contractor working on the prestigious United Utilities AMP8 projects in Preston. The successful candidate will play a key role in cost estimation, tendering, and project planning for civils works within this major infrastructure program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and develop accurate civils cost estimates for multi-disciplinary projects
- Collaborate with design teams, clients, and subcontractors to gather data and ensure competitive pricing
- Manage and review tender documentation and risk assessments
- Support project teams during procurement and contract negotiations
- Contribute to project planning and scheduling to ensure timely submission of bids
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Civils Estimator, ideally within utility or infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of United Utilities standards and AMP8 frameworks
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to start immediately and commit to 2 days per week on-site in Preston
