The Role
The Engineer - Product Integrity - DSEAR shall provide support to the Engineering Delivery Manager to ensure the delivery of DSEAR compliance assessments and technical DSEAR support to site and facilities.
Admin
- Support the development of realistic programme status updates, identify problem areas and implement agreed recovery plans.
Key Accountabilities
- Site and Facility DSEAR risk assessment delivery.
- Document review and approval.
- Delivery of DSEAR compliance guidance to site and facilities
The Principal Engineer (DSEAR) shall:
- Deliver DSEAR technical risk assessments of site, facilities and site related projects.
Review and approval of DSEAR risk assessments relating to:
- Existing facilities
- Site redevelopment projects
- Ad hoc DSEAR support as required
Develop, maintain and keep up to date core documentation with regard to:
- Principles, Processes and Plans
- Specific Project Deliverables pertaining to DSEAR
- Presentation and guidance to support training/ mentoring and development pertinent to DSEAR.
Lead the provision of DSEAR support and guidance to Engineering and other functions within BAESM-S.
- Support co-ordination the work programs of team members to meet DSEAR objectives at our site.
- Support the on-going development of junior DSEAR team members.
- Providing support to regulatory inspections
- Chairing explosion safety workshops, risk cells and working groups.
Key Skills
- Experience of working in an explosion safety engineering environment and applying various methods of hazard analysis
- A thorough understanding of DSEAR Risk Assessment incorporating Hazardous Area Classification (HAC).
- Degree qualified/ NVQ Level 5 or equivalent experience in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) related discipline.
- Capable of achieving the appropriate Professional Institution membership level
