Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor
Our client, a leader within the power utilities and distribution sector, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. This hybrid role, with a mix of office and home working, focuses on renewable projects, including Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to both operation and maintenance (O&M) and new developments within the renewable energy field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing all aspects of quantity surveying for power utilities and distribution projects
- Administering contracts under NEC 3 / 4 and FIDIC frameworks
- Managing contractor relationships and ensuring compliance with contractual terms (T1 T2)
- Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports
- Conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies
- Providing advice on contractual claims and negotiations
- Collaborating with project managers and engineers to ensure project delivery within budget
- Monitoring project progress and ensuring financial control and reporting
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor within Power, utilities or Civil Engineering sectors
- Proficiency in NEC 3 / 4 contract administration (FIDIC - Desirable, not essential)
- Strong background in working for a contractor (T1 T2)
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work to tight deadlines
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
