Our client, a respected entity in the Defence & Security sector, is looking for a skilled Process Engineer to join their team in Derby on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to work on crucial projects within the defence and security landscape, contributing to significant advancements in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Nuclear team in various key nuclear programmes including the UK Submarine programme, the existing nuclear generation fleet, decommissioning, and infrastructure for new nuclear establishments.
- Collaborate within engineering teams, taking projects from inception to completion.
- Create and manage technical documentation such as P&ID, equipment schedules, and technical reports.
- Develop operating philosophies and high-level control system logic.
- Ensure compliance with design codes and industry standards pertinent to safety-critical environments.
- Participate in the delivery of technical projects and services within set timeframes, quality, and cost parameters.
- Engage with supply chain management to optimise project outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders and present technical information clearly.
Job Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (with substantial systems experience), or a related discipline.
- Essential experience in the nuclear sector, with a preference for familiarity with experimental rigs.
- Proficiency in creating and managing P&ID, equipment schedules, and conducting vessel and component sizing activities.
- Experience with Flowmaster software is desirable.
- Proven track record of delivering technical projects and services efficiently.
- Knowledge of design codes and industry standards relevant to safety-critical industries.
- Strong skills in producing key technical documentation, including calculations, design reports, and requirements.
- Experience with supply chain management.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
