Our client is currently seeking a Senior / Principal Structures Engineer to join their team. This is a permanent role based within a collaborative and dynamic office environment, where you will lead and support technically complex projects, acting as both a technical expert and project manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing development of technical and management skills through familiarisation with Design Standards, Codes of Practice, and Design Guidance notes
  • Explaining technical concepts to junior colleagues and clients
  • Proficient use of internal systems and procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Welfare regulations and promoting a culture of awareness
  • Continuing professional development towards Chartered Membership of ICE / IStructE
  • Resolving design and development issues
  • Communicating project updates with the engineering team and project manager
  • Managing project scope and deliverables, ensuring timely and high-standard outputs within budget constraints
  • Attending meetings and site visits to oversee project progress and issue site inspection reports
  • Mentoring graduate engineers and fostering a collaborative team spirit
  • Developing structural engineering design concepts and preparing related documentation
  • Reviewing and coordinating third-party drawings and details to ensure consistency and conformance

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in structural design within the development infrastructure market
  • Strong knowledge base in Design Standards, Codes of Practice, and technical guidance
  • Capability to explain complex technical concepts to various stakeholders, including clients and junior colleagues
  • Proficiency in internal systems and procedures specific to the structural design field
  • Awareness and compliance with relevant Health, Safety, and Welfare regulations
  • Demonstrated progress towards Chartered Membership of ICE / IStructE
  • Experience in project management, including cost control, scheduling, and client liaison
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
