Our client, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Lead Project Scheduler to join their team at the Portsmouth Naval Base on a contract basis.

Job Overview:


This role involves the meticulous planning and scheduling of key projects within the Maritime Services business unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that project timelines are accurately planned and maintained, contributing to the continued success of the projects within the Defence & Security sector. This position requires full-time on-site presence at Portsmouth Naval Base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules for various maritime projects
  • Collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure project timelines are realistic and achievable
  • Monitoring project progress and updating schedules as necessary
  • Identifying potential scheduling conflicts and proposing solutions to mitigate delays
  • Providing regular reports on project status, highlighting any scheduling issues
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
  • Supporting the successful delivery of projects by offering expert scheduling advice

Job Requirements:

  • Experienced in project planning and scheduling, especially within the defence or related sectors
  • Proficient in scheduling software and tools, with the ability to adapt to various technologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a focus on stakeholder engagement
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to meeting project deadlines
  • Ability to work full-time on-site at Portsmouth Naval Base
  • Understanding of IR35 regulations and hybrid working arrangements
