Our client, a London-based local authority, is currently seeking a Senior Contracts Manager specialising in Lighting and Trees to join their Highways department. This contract role focuses on improving the efficiency and success of the street lighting and street trees services through effective planning, budget management, and governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Service in developing and enhancing street lighting and trees services
- Provide contract administration for street lighting and parking services
- Set and enforce quality and professional standards in service delivery
- Develop and implement operational plans aligned with the Council's policies and strategies
- Lead the delivery of Street Lighting & Trees projects within budget and on time
- Procure, negotiate, and manage complex contracts to ensure value for money
- Maintain effective governance and administrative support through the Contract Support Officer
- Act as a senior advisor in street lighting and arboricultural matters
Job Requirements:
- Experience in Arboriculture and Streetlighting
- Understanding of contract management principles and policies
- Proficiency in budget management, specifically within public services
- Experience in project management and operational planning
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in policy and service development within a local government context
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
