Our client, a leading player in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Structural Integrity Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Derby. This role involves supporting crucial nuclear programmes, including UK Submarines, and ensuring the integrity of both existing and new nuclear establishments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting various nuclear programmes by providing structural integrity expertise
- Conducting finite element analysis and complex structural integrity assessments
- Producing technical documentation, including calculations and reports
- Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Taking responsibility for projects from inception to completion
- Ensuring project delivery meets time, quality, and cost objectives
Job Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience in the nuclear sector (design, analysis, technical substantiation) is desirable
- Experience in performing complex structural integrity assessments (including Fatigue, Fatigue Crack Growth, and Fracture assessments)
- Familiarity with relevant codes such as ASME III and R6
- Experience in delivering technical projects and services
- Proficiency in producing key technical documentation
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Security clearance (SC) is required for this role
