Successful manufacturing business requires a Buyer. An excellent opportunity foe an experienced Buyer or a Procurement Assistant / Procurement Administrator looking to advance their career, with a forward-thinking market leading business.
The Buyer will join a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers reporting to a Procurement Manager. Focusing on both component and finished product procurement, the Buyer will help ensure continuity of supply to the production lines while also meeting spares/aftermarket demand from customers. Working closely with international suppliers based both in Europe and the Far East, the Buyer will take ownership of MRP data and support business-wide cost down initiatives.
Specific duties of the Buyer include:
- Management of the Purchase Order process - raise, place and expedite
- Scheduling and re-scheduling of orders
- Supplier liaison and management driving the supply chain against OTD/OTIF metrics
- Maintenance of supplier and procurement department data in MRP
- Support strategic procurement tasks - cost down initiatives, supplier rationalisation and innovation
Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Relevant experience as a Buyer, or supporting procurement activity as an; Expeditor, Procurement Administrator, Procurement Assistant, Purchasing Administrator, Purchasing Assistant or in a broader supply chain or logistics role
- A positive, proactive, self-starter
- Logical, numerate with good analytical and relationship building skills
- Familiarity with business systems, MS Office packages, and/or MRP/ERP is desirable
- Comfortable being site based in Salisbury
