Our client, a leading firm in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join their Defence Information Advantage team. This is a contract position based in Romsey, requiring a minimum of three days per week onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to agile ceremonies following Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe Agile frameworks
- Coach team members in DevSecOps methodologies
- Collaborate with product owners and software developers to schedule releases and implement CI/CD pipelines
- Work with security architects to ensure products and services are secure by design
- Partner with quality engineers to ensure high standards of product and service quality
- Implement changes to products and services effectively
- Participate and contribute to code reviews
- Support operational systems, troubleshoot, and resolve issues
Job Requirements:
- Degree-level qualification in a STEM subject or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with AWS cloud technologies; Azure and GCP beneficial
- Knowledge of cyber security, including vulnerability management, IDAM, and network security
- Familiarity with virtualisation and containerisation tools such as Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes
- Understanding of architectural styles including microservices, serverless, and edge compute
- Experience with DevSecOps tooling including Git, Gitlab CI/CD, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Puppet, Ansible)
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python or Rust
- Experience with SRE analysis tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Elastic Search
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders
- Proactive attitude and willingness to work both independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to Continuous Improvement and Learning from Experience
- Previous experience in DevSecOps roles within the defence industry is an advantage

- Clearance: Must hold a BPSS check, ideally with SC or UKSV DV
- Location: Romsey, with a minimum of three days per week onsite
