Our client, operating within London's Public Sector, is currently seeking a skilled TRO Officer on a contract basis. This vital role involves the planning, development, and delivery of various Traffic Orders associated with parking and highways schemes within the Highways & Traffic Group. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with experience in Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO) who are keen to advance their careers in the public sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Producing statutory documentation for the legal advertising and making of Traffic Orders supporting traffic and parking schemes.
- Supervising staff in producing Traffic Order schedules, articles, and associated designs.
- Deputising for the Senior/Principal Traffic Order Maker as required.
- Maintaining systematic and accessible records.
- Liaising with internal teams, external organisations, and dealing with public and Councillor inquiries.
- Providing technical guidance and support to other officers on Traffic Order processes.
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation at all times.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in drafting and processing traffic management orders and statutory notices under the Road Traffic Regulation Act (RTRA) 1984.
- Ability to develop and supervise elements of colleagues' work related to traffic orders.
- Strong coordination skills to ensure accurate and legally compliant scheduling.
- Proficiency in checking traffic order and design works produced by consultants and contractors.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and advances in technology, including ParkMAP.
- Capability to handle financial payments for publication of statutory notices and manage inquiries, including high-profile cases.
