Our client an industry leader in aerostructures engineering, is currently seeking a Maintenance Back Office Engineer for a 2 year fixed term position. As part of the established Maintenance department, this highly skilled role focuses on planning, forecasting, and analysing maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety regulations. You will report directly to the Senior Maintenance and Facilities Manager, collaborating with a team to achieve production targets and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promoting a safe workplace environment, ensuring adherence to Environmental, Health and Safety policies.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely clocking and booking of time and attendance, job costings.
  • Maintaining workstations, tools, and equipment cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Ensuring compliance with Quality standards, processes, and minimising wastage.
  • Supporting cost reduction and management initiatives.
  • Keeping knowledge and training up to date for necessary operations.
  • Actively participating in team meetings, sharing knowledge, and mentoring trainees.

Role Specific Responsibilities:

  • Planning and forecasting preventative and corrective maintenance using onsite CMMS.
  • Scheduling corrective maintenance to ensure minimum equipment downtime.
  • Managing stock using onsite CMMS and ensuring no stock outs.
  • Producing technical analytics of planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Creating AutoCAD technical drawings if required.
  • Communicating the status of departmental activities regularly.
  • Managing the scope and content of the Maximo Maintenance planning and scheduling tool.
  • Carrying out purchases for the department with invoicing receipting.
  • Conducting RCCA on breakdowns to reduce future downtime.
  • Ensuring high availability of critical assets through PMFEA.
  • Continuously improving departmental processes based on analytic data.
  • Ensuring contractor works are planned and delivered safely.
  • Adhering to all regulatory maintenance activities.
  • Undertaking cost-saving projects.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering.
  • Strong numeracy, literacy, and IT skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Visual Basic, and Python.
  • Experience with purchasing systems and end-to-end purchasing processes.
  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Working understanding of 5S and lean principles.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude towards success.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to participate actively in a team culture.
  • Capability to perform mechanical and manual lifting with appropriate assistance.

Security Clearance:


Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Please note that in the event BPSS clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role and/or any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
