The Land Ceptor System of Systems organisation is growing fast in order to support delivery of export contracts and evolution of the product to enhance the capabilities for our customers.

As the System of Systems Integration lead your primary objective is to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team in support of integration (physical / functional) of a land product into a wider Ground Based Air Defence Weapon System context.

The opportunity:

The Land Ceptor System of Systems organisation is growing fast in order to support delivery of export contracts and evolution of the product to enhance the capabilities for our customers.

As the a System of System Lead you will report to the Head of Systems of Systems Integration across a number of work streams related to the PILICA+ programme including:

  • Working with the Polish customer to define and agree the Land Ceptor Requirements for a Projects Phase 2 programme.

  • Main point of contact to the Polish customer on P+ technical issues related to System of System activities

  • Lead regular (monthly) technical working groups with the Polish customer including co-ordinating with engineering teams on required inputs

  • Co-ordinating and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team on technical issues, queries and conflict resolution including co-ordinating responses to and from the customer and industrial partners.

We are looking for flexible and motivated candidates to work collaboratively with our customers, industry partners and internal project teams to develop solutions for existing and future programmes. The work is varied, providing you with a unique opportunity to develop a wider awareness of multiple engineering disciplines alongside contributing to critical programme delivery in the form of System of Systems requirements definition.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Proven experience in developing and integrating complex systems, preferably in the defence industry

  • Strong systems thinking skills with the ability to initiate and drive trade studies

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical information to a variety of stakeholders (internally and externally)

  • Experience developing requirement sets, and an ability to agreeing these collaboratively with different stakeholder groups including System Design Authorities and Government organisations

  • Project engineering knowledge to be able to design and deliver work packages

Location: Bristol / Hertfordshire

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
