Important: All applicants must be able to obtain Security Clearance and must hold British Nationality as their sole/primary nationality.
Working: The role offers flexible working but does require engineers on site for a minimum of 3 days per week and is on a secure site where SC clearance is needed.

Due to increased workload, one of our major defence clients is looking for experienced stress engineers to lead the structural design and development of a next-generation complex projects. The Stress Engineers will collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams across our UK sites to develop an advanced aerospace structural solution.
The team is responsible for the structural and thermal performance of military systems. And will deliver structural and thermal analysis expertise across the whole product lifecycle from studies in the early concept stage and detailed development of engineering designs to manufacturing concessions and in-service support.
This role can provide opportunities to gain experience across a wide range of structural analysis disciplines, including but not limited to: Classical hand calculations; CAE Modelling (Static, Dynamic, Fatigue, Aeroelastics, Non-Linear, Impact, Kinematic), Qualification & Design Testing, Fault Investigation & Loads Derivation.

Skill and Experience;
  • Ideally degree qualified in a relevant engineering / science discipline or have significant experience in a relevant field (e.g. Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural Analysis etc.).
  • Proven experience in estimating, planning, leading and delivering a variety of structural analysis work packages, using both classical hand calculation methods and CAE tools.
  • Demonstrated ability in preparing and presenting comprehensive technical reports, conveying complex findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Proactive and passionate about developing and improving methods, processes and tools.
  • Able to mentor and support junior engineers providing technical expertise and fostering their professional growth.
  • Self-motivated individuals who are great problem solvers, can take responsibility and work independently as well as a part of multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to network, influence and manage internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable Experience;
  • Experience in the Defence or safety regulated environment would be advantageous
  • Experience in the Naval / Maritime domain would be advantageous.
  • Experience using Hyperworks is desirable
  • Composite stress analysis experience would be an asset.
