Job Advert - Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Day Shift → Rotating Shifts in 2026)
Location: Burnley
Term: Permanent
Salary = 41,000 + Benefits Day shift
Shifts = (Day Shift 7:30-16:00 Mon-Fri)
Call outs (after probation) = 1 in 6 week Rotation (Mon 7:00am through to following Monday 7:00am) Call out payment included.
Attention - All candidates will be on day shift until April/May 2026 and then a Day Shift to Back Shift rotation will take place (4 Weeks of days followed by 4 weeks of back shift you will not be on call out when you are working the back shift)
Back Shift = (Mon-Thu 3pm-11:30pm) (Fri 11:00am - 16:00pm) + 26% Uplift Shift Premium

What will I be doing?
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will work within an established reliability engineering team to carry out routine planned maintenance on a variety of on-site process equipment, following a structured preventative maintenance schedule.
Your responsibilities will include:
Responding to machine breakdowns safely and effectively
Diagnosing and repairing faults within your competence level
Working with equipment and systems such as:
CNC machinery
Automation
Controls
Heat treatment systems
Pressure systems
Site services
Hydraulic schematics and machine drawings
Shift Information:
This is a Day Shift role until April/May 2026, after which a 4-week Day Shift / 4-week Back Shift rotation will begin.
Day Shift: Mon-Fri, 07:30-16:00
Back Shift: Mon-Thu, 15:00-23:30, Fri 11:00-16:00
What do you need from me?
Time-served mechanical engineer
HNC qualification desirable
Competence with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)
Experience within an engineering or production environment
Basic electrical understanding
FLT / IPAF licence (training provided if required)
