Our client, a leading organisation in the Space/SatComm sector, is currently seeking a Senior System Validation Engineer with SerDes experience to join their team in the UK. This is a permanent position that involves working with advanced satellite communication systems undergoing significant technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting system validation activities, including Phy, HW, and SW validation.
  • Designing and delivering high-speed SerDes IP (multi-gigabit per second links).
  • Collaborating with system engineering and other teams to study system architecture and requirements, and developing test plans accordingly.
  • Defining and writing automatic test plans and procedures for new systems and features.
  • Building test setups for fully automated regression as well as manual tests.
  • Hands-on involvement in integration, feature/product enabling, bring up, debug activities, and regression automation testing of satellite systems.
  • Recording, investigating, and analysing defects.
  • Investigating root cause of test case failures and providing corrective action in conjunction with development teams.
  • Supporting Test Management tools and continuous integration methodologies.
  • Data analysis and post-processing of collected data.
  • Compiling regular test execution summary reports with metrics.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in system validation, particularly with complex HW/SW/embedded designs.
  • Skilled in RF Physical layer testing and operation of related equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, VNAs, Sig. Gens, power meters, high-speed sampling scopes).
  • Proficiency in developing automation in validation environments and experience in programming languages such as Python, C#, or C++.
  • Knowledge of IP communication protocols and experience in testing IP networking systems (routers, network processors).
  • Experience in planning, estimating, and developing system tests.
  • Proficiency in defect tracking and knowledge management software (e.g., Atlassian JIRA and Confluence).
  • Strong self-learning capabilities, adaptability, and ability to work in new technical fields.
  • Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.
