Our client, a leading provider in the aerospace sector, is currently seeking a skilled Grinder to join their team on a permanent basis. This role involves performing high-precision grinding operations on aircraft components using cylindrical and surface grinding machines, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate all types of grinding machines to fine limits
- Work unsupervised or with minimal supervision
- Read and understand technical drawings
- Work with cylindrical and surface grinding machines
- Maintain awareness and understanding of company environmental procedures
- Maintain Practical Experience Record (PER) book
- Train personnel within a specified area, subject to qualifications and experience
- Comply with safety and environmental regulations and company procedures
Job Requirements:
- Experience in machining, particularly with internal and external grinding machines
- Preferred background in aerospace, although not essential
- Knowledge of CNC grinding is advantageous
Education and Qualifications:
- Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent
- Fluent in written and spoken English

- Initiative and strong analytical skills
- Good communication skills and ability to interact with various levels of management
- Planning, organisation, and administrative abilities, with PC literacy
- Ability to maintain performance under pressure and solve problems effectively
- Strong team player with a willingness to learn and pass on knowledge
Working Conditions:
- Flexibility in working hours, including occasional overtime at weekends
- Contact with various greases and oils
- Training and use of overhead cranes
- Understanding of manual handling techniques
- Use of hand and power tools, as well as complex machinery
- Right to live and work in the UK unrestricted
- Mandatory training will be provided
